Skin Cancer Treatment
Skin Cancer is the most common form of cancer affecting more than one million Americans every year. One in five Americans will develop skin cancer at some point in their lives. Skin cancer is generally curable if diagnosed early. However, people who have experienced skin cancer are at a higher risk of developing a new skin cancer, which is why regular self-examination and regular physician visits are imperative. At Fort Worth Dermatology Associates we specialize in the treatment of skin cancer including Mohs Micrographic Surgery. We accept new patients by physician referral after they have been diagnosed with skin cancer through biopsy.
Once the referral is received from your dermatologist or primary care physician the patient is contacted by our staff to schedule a consultation with our physician to discuss your specific cancer and treatment options. If surgery is required, you will be scheduled to return for your surgical procedure at a later date.
All of our surgeries are performed in our office under local anesthesia. Because of the nature of the surgical procedure, we ask that you be prepared to stay with us all day, should it be necessary, in order to clear the cancer.
